Company Description

There is no such thing as a bad hair day for Ratner Companies. The private family-owned firm runs about 1,000 hair salons in more than a dozen states and manages some 12,000 stylists companywide. It operates under the brands BUBBLES, Hair Cuttery, Salon Cielo, ColorWorks, and Salon Plaza. Value-priced salon chain Hair Cuttery is the company's largest division, with some 800 unisex salons mainly on the East Coast and in the Midwest. Salon Cielo and BUBBLES both carry Ratner's hair care product line, Cibu. The company also operates two Paul Mitchell schools in Florida and Virginia that offer advanced classes to hairstyling educators. It was founded in 1974 by then-newlyweds Ann and Dennis Ratner.
