The company was founded by Colgate University grads Gillian Simon and Matt Vogel in 1993. After the co-founders invested $10,000 of their own money and starting with 48 card designs, they received several orders from independent retailers. Simon, a graphic designer, hand-crafts every card. Quotable's products are now available at retailers (primarily gift shops and bookstores) throughout the world, including those in the US, Canada, the UK, and Japan.
