Purple Communications (formerly GoAmerica) provides a colorful alternative to traditional phone services for the hearing impaired. It offers telecommunications relay services such as text relay, video relay, and Internet Protocol text relay, whereby hard of hearing subscribers can video chat, send and receive text telephone messages, faxes, and e-mail over computers or wireless devices. Purple Communications maintains 15 call centers in the US to facilitate the calls. The company also offers on-site live interpreting services in a dozen US cities, and via video across the country. Clearlake Capital Group owns nearly all of the company's stock.
