Company Description
Prosurgics (formerly Armstrong Healthcare) developed and manufactured image-guided robotic systems used to assist surgeons in performing a range of procedures in fields such as neurosurgery, urology, bariatrics, and orthopedics. Its EndoAssist product, a robotic camera holder and positioner, provided a "third hand" to a single surgeon, assisting with procedures that would have otherwise required two people. The PathFinder product was an image-guided neurosurgical localizer, used for targeting intracranial lesions. The company had a network of international distributors and a subsidiary in the US. Prosurgics was acquired by Freehand Surgical in 2010 and the combined entity was subsequently renamed Freehand 2010.
