PowerSecure International helps its utility, energy, and water customers stay on top of what is going on with their gas, electricity, and water. Its Energy & Smart Grid Solutions segment offers distributed generation electricity systems to industrial and commercial users, which help to monitor and more efficiently dispatch the flow of electricity. It also provides management consulting and utility engineering planning, design, and construction services, as well energy efficiency products (such as LED lighting). In order to focus on its core smart grid segment, in mid-2011 the company sold its WaterSecure subsidiary, which operated water processing facilities in northeastern Colorado.
