Despite its name, Plymouth Rubber doesn't bounce around -- it sticks to the tape business. The company makes a range of vinyl and rubber electrical tapes, automotive harness tapes, industrial tapes and films, and highway striping tapes. It sells primarily to the auto and electrical supply, utility and automotive industries. Plymouth Rubber's Brite-Line Technologies subsidiary makes highway marking and safety products, and Spain-based Plymouth Rubber Europa makes vinyl and cloth-based insulating tapes. Plymouth Rubber filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2005 and emerged in 2006 when Long Dash PRC LLC, largely owned by Chrysalis Capital Partners, bought a majority stake in the company. To read the full description, subscribe now.
