Company Description

These players congress on the court in pursuit of a championship season. Philadelphia 76ers, L.P., owns and operates the oldest franchise in the National Basketball Association. The team was formed in 1939 as the Syracuse Nationals, which joined the NBA in 1949 and won its first title in 1955. Moving to Philadelphia in 1963, the Sixers would win two more NBA championships in 1967 (led by hometown legend Wilt Chamberlain) and 1983 (with the help of Julius "Dr. J" Erving). The team is owned by Comcast Spectacor, a unit of cable operator Comcast that also holds stakes in the Philadelphia Flyers and other sports interests.
