Company Description

PetSmart is the top dog and the cat's meow in its industry. The #1 US specialty retailer of pet food and supplies has about 1,190 stores in the US and Canada. Both pets and their masters may lay paws, claws, or hands on its 10,000 products, which range from scratching posts to iguana harnesses, and are sold under national brands and PetSmart's own private labels. (The retailer also offers products through its PetSmart website.) Stores provide in-store boarding facilities (PetsHotels), grooming services, and obedience training. Veterinary services are available, as well, in more than 770 shops through pet hospital operator Medical Management International (known as Banfield), of which PetSmart owns about 20%.
