Company Description
Petrobank Energy and Resources has banked on diverse petroleum assets in North and South America to fuel the exploration and production company's profits. The company has a large inventory of Bakken Shake light oil locations in southeast Saskatchewan. In addition, its Canadian unit is involved in heavy oil exploration and production in Alberta. Its Latin American unit operates through Petrominerales in Colombia and Peru where it holds about 3.3 million net acres. Petrobank, which began operating in 1994, reported proved reserves in 2009 of 68.8 million barrels of oil equivalent. To raise cash, the company spun off its previously 66%-owned Petrominerales in 2010.
