Company Description
The firm behind the Speedo, Pentland Group owns about 15 brands of sports and leisure apparel, activewear, footwear, and sporting goods. In addition to Speedo, its brand portfolio includes Berghaus, Ellesse, KangaROOS, Mitre, and ONETrueSaxon, as well as the exclusive worldwide footwear license for the Lacoste brand. Pentland also has licensing rights to the Ted Baker footwear collection outside the US and Canada. The company markets its brands in some 175 countries and operates about 300 retail outlets worldwide. The Rubin family founded Pentland in 1932, and its investment firm, Robert Stephen Holdings, owns the company.
