Company Description
Pendrell no longer has its eye on the sky. The company, formerly ICO Global Communications, changed its name as part of its transition into the intellectual property (IP) services business. In mid-2011 Pendrell acquired Ovidian Group, a leading provider of IP acquisition, divestiture, and advisory services to enterprises worldwide. Later that year, it bought 90% of digital rights and content management IP firm ContentGuard, which has licensing agreements with the likes of Microsoft, Nokia, Sharp, Sony, and LG Electronics. Pendrell has sold its satellite communications business. Eagle River Satellite Holdings has 65% voting control of the company.
