Parkway Properties knows its way around office spaces. The self-administered real estate investment trust (REIT) acquires, owns, and operates office properties throughout the Southeast, as well as Chicago and Phoenix. Parkway owns or has an interest in about 65 office properties with nearly 14 million sq. ft. of leasable space in about a dozen states. Nearly a third of its portfolio is held through discretionary funds and joint venture partnerships through which the REIT receives fees for providing asset, property, and construction management. These services are offered through its subsidiary, Parkway Realty Services, which manages and leases offices for both its parent and third-parties.
