One of Indonesia's top three lenders, BRI offers traditional commercial banking products and services. The company is a pioneer in the field of micro loans, or small loans to the very poor designed to encourage entrepreneurship. It keeps its small and midsized business loan levels at about 80% of its total lending portfolio. Indonesia's government owns 60% of the company.
