Headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, Orgill operates five distribution centers in Georgia, Missouri, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia. It supplies customers throughout the US and Canada, and exports to more than 60 countries worldwide. Orgill intends to add another distribution center in the Pacific Northwest, which should boost service to Asian markets.
Orgill's sales exceeded $1.3 billion in 2011.
Orgill has been optimizing its US distribution network in an effort to reduce its cost structure and improve service to customers. In 2009 the company opened a warehousing and distribution facility in Sikeston, Missouri, which replaces Orgill's shuttered locations in Vandalia, Illinois, and Memphis, Tennessee. The Missouri location serves the South and Midwest and is one of the company's five distribution centers, all of which have either been expanded upon or constructed since 2003.
The company strengthened its reach north of the US border in late 2010, announcing a partnership with Castle Building Centres Group, a member-owned building materials buying group in Canada. Castle Building Centres boasts members (including lumber and building materials retailers and commercial dealers) in every region of Canada. Orgill's plans to provide service throughout Canada (thereby facilitating complete North America coverage) was in the works for more than a decade before the alliance was presented, and since 2007 the company supplied a limited number of independent retailers in the country to test the waters. As part of their partnership, Castle is marketing Orgill's distribution services to both new and existing members. Orgill's Utah distribution center serves the western region of Canada, and its West Virginia facility serves central and eastern Canada.
