Company Description

OFS Fitel is looking for companies in need of a steady diet of fiber. Its fiber products include nonzero dispersion optical fibers, single-mode fibers, multimode fibers, and ocean fibers. The company sells its optical fiber under the AllWave, LaserWave, UltraWave, and TrueWave brands. It also sells specialty fibers such as carbon-coated and ribboned fibers. Furukawa Electric acquired the optical fiber cable business of Lucent Technologies (now Alcatel-Lucent) and formed its US subsidiary OFS Fitel and its sister company OFS BrightWave, which makes fiber-optic cable. OFS began as Western Electric Company, the manufacturing arm of Western Union, in 1869.
