Part of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Office of the National Counterintelligence (ONCIX) is responsible for producing defensive and offensive strategies for the counterintelligence (CI) programs and activities of the US government. Staffed by senior CI specialists, the ONCIX also develops, coordinates, and produces annual foreign intelligence threat assessments; priorities for CI collection, investigations, and operations; in-depth espionage damage assessments; and CI awareness, outreach, training standards, and policies.
