Mmmmetals is the mantra for OM Group (OMG). The company produces metal-based specialty chemicals for about 50 industries, predominantly makers of batteries, chemicals, tires, and coatings. OMG produces cobalt-based chemistry products such as organics, inorganics, powders, and metals. About a third of the company's sales are in Finland; Japan accounts for nearly as much, with Nichia Corporation alone picking up 20% of sales. In 2007 OM Group significantly altered its business with the sale of its nickel operations, which had accounted for about half of its annual sales, to global nickel giant Norilsk Nickel.
