Company Description
Oil and chemicals group OMV is Austria's largest industrial company. A leading oil and gas company in Central and Eastern Europe, it explores for natural gas and crude oil; refines crude oil; and imports, transports, and stores gas. OMV has proved reserves of 1.2 billion barrels of oil equivalent; it produces about 317,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and sells 13 billion cu. ft. of gas annually. The bulk of OMV's sales come from refining and marketing, with the company operating five refineries and more than 2,430 gas stations in 13 countries. OMV's largest shareholders are Austrian state holding company ÖIAG (32%) and the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) of Abu Dhabi (20%).
