Company Description
Heat can't beat Nippon Carbon. The company is a leading maker of graphite electrodes for electric arc furnaces. Steelmakers and other manufacturers use the furnaces to melt scrap metals. In addition to graphite electrode production, Nippon Carbon also makes fine carbon products for the semiconductor industry and carbon-based products for the auto industry. Other carbon products include graphite powder used in the cathodes of lithium-ion batteries and ultra-high heat-resistant silicon carbide continuous fiber. Nippon Carbon was founded in 1915 when it began producing natural graphite electrodes.
