Circling the global, Neopost goes postal to catch up with Pitney Bowes. Neopost is the #2 supplier of mailing and shipping equipment in the world. It sells, rents, leases, and services a slew of equipment, from electronic postal scales to automatic letter openers, as well as document-handling and logistics systems, including PC-based mailroom accounting tools. Neopost was first to market the franking machine in the 1920s to Europe; it has since expanded its direct distribution services, adding in mailroom furniture design along with product training. European small and mid-size companies remain Neopost's core market, generating 45% of sales, with North American businesses a close second, representing some 40%.
