NTIA has the ear of the Whitehouse. As the president’s main adviser for telecom and information issues, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration helps form and present government policy in this area. It manages the government’s use of the radio spectrum, conducts telecom research, works on telecom problems for the government and private sector, and issues grants for infrastructure and public telecom work.
