National Tax Service, Republic of Korea Rankings
Company Description
Taxes certainly can be touchy. The Republic of Korea leaves those duties to its National Tax Service, an organization that collects internal taxes that are used to fund government programs. Internal taxes include monies derived from income, inheritance, gift, liquor, stamp, real estate, and special excise. Headed by a commissioner, the organization's eight bureaus cover everything from legal affairs and public relations to real estate, corporate, and international taxation. (Its counterpart, the Office of Tax and Customs, is responsible for planning policies and drafting tax laws.) Korea's National Tax Service was established in 1966; it formerly functioned as the Taxation Bureau of the Ministry of Finance.
