Company Description
The National Space Society (NSS) has stars in its eyes. The 12,000-member organization is dedicated to the advancement of human societies in space as a solution to such global threats as overpopulation, the depletion of natural resources, and comet or asteroid impact. Its more than 50 chapters around the world lobby policymakers and participate in educational activities to rally public support for space-related issues. NSS also publishes Ad Astra, a quarterly member magazine featuring news on international space programs and achievements. The organization was founded in 1974 by pioneer rocket scientist Wernher von Braun.
