National HealthCare (NHC) provides long-term care to those who have had long-term lives. Through its subsidiaries, NHC manages more than 75 long-term health care centers (aka skilled nursing homes) in 12 states, mainly in the southeastern US. Of its facilities, the company owns or leases 50 facilities and manages the other 25 for third-party organizations; together, its facilities house about 9,700 beds. In addition to its nursing homes, NHC manages some 35 home health programs, as well as 15 independent and assisted-living facilities. The company provides a number of health services through its facilities, including visiting nurse, hospice, rehabilitation, Alzheimer's care, and institutional pharmacy services.
