Nash-Finch knows what's in store for food retailers. One of the largest US wholesale grocery distributors, the company supplies food and general merchandise to about 1,700 retail grocery stores in more than 25 states. It operates 15 distribution centers located in the Midwest, the Great Lakes region, and the Southeast. The company is also one of the leading suppliers to the US armed forces, distributing goods to approximately 250 military commissaries and exchanges in both the US and abroad. In addition to its food distribution businesses, Nash-Finch operates some 50 of its own supermarkets under such banners as Econofoods, Family Thrift Center, and Sun Mart.
