Its vaccine for nicotine addition, NicVAX, works by stimulating antibodies that reduce cravings. It had been developing StaphVax, an investigational vaccine designed to fight certain hospital-acquired infections, until it failed certain trials. The company modified the drug and renamed it PentaStaph. Nabi had marketed one product, hepatitis B vaccine Nabi-HB; but it sold Nabi-HB along with some other assets in 2007 in order to focus on its other development programs.
