Company Description
Nederlandse Spoorwegen (also known as Dutch Railways), the holding company for NS Group, moves more than a million people a day in the Netherlands. NS Group primarily operates passenger trains throughout the country (including a high-speed train) but has expanded into the UK, through subsidiary Abellio (formerly NedRailways), operating in northern and eastern England. It also transports passengers in Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, and Germany. NS Group's other segments include hub development (management of the train stations) and construction. The company operates nearly 400 stations in the Netherlands. It has a contract agreement to run the Dutch main rail network until 2015.
