Nippon Sharyo keeps chugging along. The company has three main segments; its largest manufactures trains, including cars for the shinkansen (the world-famous Japanese high-speed bullet train), and other transportation equipment such as railway freight cars, light rail vehicles, and subway trains. Its other two divisions make construction and industrial equipment and steel structures such as bridges. Nippon Sharyo's smaller businesses build grain complexes and provide chemical industry equipment, waste water treatment systems, seed processing plants, real estate rentals, and R&D.
