Motability has the ability to help disabled UK citizens get mobile. Motability is a government-chartered charity that helps provide qualified disabled individuals (civilian and military) with affordable lease or purchase financing for transportation - primarily modified automobiles or vans, but also motorized wheelchairs and scooters. The agency's financial operations are managed by Motability Finance (also known as Motability Operations), which the UK's six major clearing banks jointly run as a not-for-profit venture. Motability has served some 490,000 individuals since it was established by the government in 1978.
