Mosaica Education overlays private school concepts onto public school settings. The company operates nearly 80 tuition-free K-12 charter schools, serving more than 14,000 students in seven states, the District of Columbia, and the Middle East. Mosaica, which offers its own curriculum in a longer-than-normal school day and school year, locates many of its schools in inner city areas. The company's Spectra Services division offers services such as information technology, student assessment, staff training, and accounting for public and private schools. Educator Dawn Eidelman and her husband, Gene, founded Mosaica in 1997.
