Mooney Airplane was sold by its parent company to Swiss investment firm Allen Holdings & Finance in 2004 and then reacquired later that year as part of Mooney Aerospace Group's reorganization under Chapter 11. Mooney Aerospace Group emerged from bankruptcy protection in December 2004.
