It makes more than 100,000 kinds of electronic, electrical, and fiber-optic connectors and switches. Its miniature plugs, jacks, and other complex connectors are used in a wide variety of products, including automobiles, computers, consumer electronics, home appliances, industrial machinery, and telecommunications equipment. Molex sells through distributors and directly to manufacturers that have included Apple, Cisco, Dell, Ford, General Motors, HP, IBM, Nokia, and Panasonic. Asian customers, primarily in China and Japan, account for more than 60% of sales.
