Miltope makes rugged computers and peripherals for trying situations. Also known as VT Miltope, the company manufactures printers, servers, mass storage devices, and portable computers for combat and other environments that prove hostile to sensitive electronics. The equipment is used by the US military, NATO forces, and foreign militaries for severe land, sea, and airborne applications. Miltope also serves the commercial aviation industry with airborne networking equipment and other peripherals. Commercial customers have included Lufthansa and United Airlines. Founded in 1972, Miltope is a subsidiary of VT Systems, a unit of the US branch of Singapore Technologies Engineering, which acquired the company in 2003.
