Metropolitan Health Networks (MetCare) provides a way to keep Florida's senior citizens healthy. Through contracts with Humana and other health insurers, the provider service network (PSN) operator provides health benefits to some 70,000 members in Florida, most of whom are part of Humana's Medicare Advantage and Medicare HMO plans. The company, which offers health care services through its network of 30 primary care practices and 250 affiliated practices, receives fees for services provided through contracts with insurers. It operates in 18 counties in Central and South Florida. MetCare doubled its network in 2011 by acquiring neighboring Continucare.
