MedLink helps bridge the communication gap for hospitals. The company offers answering services and access to an Internet-based network (called the MedLink VPN) that gives small and medium-sized medical facilities quick access to medical records, test results, and scheduling applications. Its electronic health record service (MedLink EHR) offers automated patient-centric data, while its K-Rad Konsulting unit handles IT consulting services. The company provides direct-to-consumer testing through its LabTestPortal business. MedLink depends on a handful of customers, including New York-based New Island Hospital and several radiology centers in California. Chairman and CEO Ray Vuono owns 29% of MedLink.
