The not-for-profit system provides health care to 12 counties in the northeast portions of South Carolina through a network of hospitals and medical centers. The flagship McLeod Regional Medical Center has more than 450 beds and provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. McLeod Health is also home to two other acute care hospitals with a combined total of about 120 beds; an inpatient psychiatric care unit; hospice care; and a center for advanced surgery. The health care system was founded in 1906.
