MasTec digs the trenches, lays the cable, and builds the towers that power communications. The contractor provides telecommunications and energy infrastructure construction to telecom vendors, wireless providers, cable TV operators, and utility companies. In addition to internal and external network construction -- from erecting radio towers to installing wiring -- MasTec designs communications infrastructure and builds cable TV networks. It offers engineering, installation, and maintenance of internal and external networks for clients such as Verizon and AT&T; however, its largest customer is DIRECTV. Nearly all sales come from customers in the US. The family of chairman Jorge Mas owns 27% of MasTec.
