The company, from which the quintessentially "cool" mixture of gin and vermouth takes its name, was founded in Italy in 1863 as Martini, Sola & C. It is, appropriately, a leading producer of vermouth worldwide. Martini & Rossi's beverages include its flagship product, Martini Bianco (vermouth), along with Martini Asit (sparking wines). It is a subsidiary of the Bermuda-based wine and spirits giant, Barcardi & Company .
