Company Description
Marine Harvest casts its nets to feed the salmon-hungry masses. It produces fresh and frozen salmon, as well as trout and halibut fillets. Other products include coated fillets (i.e., breaded, marinated, grilled), finger foods, and ready-to-eat meals. The company, which produces Atlantic and other varieties of salmon, handles everything from farming and processing to the sale and distribution of its fish. It sells to restaurants and other merchants worldwide under a variety of brand names, including Ducktrap and Kendall Brook (in the US). Marine Harvest was formed in 2006 from the merger of Pan Fish, Fjord Seafood, and Marine Harvest. Alf-Helge Aarskog replaced former CEO Åse Aulie Michelet in October 2010.
