Founded by Morris and Max Blumberg, Madison Electric broke ground in a rented room in Detroit in 1914. The company has grown from pushing light bulbs, fuses, wire, and conduit, to rival the top 200 electrical and electronics distributors in the US. Joined by affiliate Standard Electric Co., Madison Electric distributes electrical supplies, industrial automation, commercial lighting, and network communication components. Branches dotting Michigan cater to a swath of commercial, industrial, utility, and defense activities. Supply options tout brands by 3M, Brady, Federal Signal, Leviton, Panduit, Square D/Schneider Electric, and Thomas & Betts. The family-owned company is led by the Blumberg's fourth generation.
