This link will open in a new window A 2003 spinoff of automotive component manufacturer Magna International , MI Developments owns and manages all of that company's former real estate holdings -- a portfolio of more than 100 industrial and commercial properties totaling some 27.5 million sq. ft. in Canada, Europe, Mexico, and the US. Magna International and its affiliates are tenants of nearly all of MI Development's properties. It also acquires land for mixed-use and residential developments. The firm holds a controlling stake in Magna Entertainment , one of the largest owners and operators of horse racetracks in North America.
