Company Description
A ride on this METRO could be a shopper's delight. The company is Germany's über retailer and ranks as the third-largest in the world (behind Wal-Mart Stores and Carrefour). METRO owns and operates more than 2,100 wholesale stores, supermarkets, hypermarkets, department stores, and the fast-growing Media Markt and Saturn consumer electronics chains. More than 900 of its shops are in Germany, but METRO also has stores in more than 30 other countries, including China, Egypt, India, the UK, and Vietnam. Store banners include METRO and Makro Cash & Carry wholesale outlets, Real hypermarkets, and Galeria Kaufhof department stores. METRO is also launching e-commerce platforms for each of its retail businesses.
