Company Description

Being king of the mountain isn't enough for M.D.C. Holdings (MDC). Operating through its Richmond American Homes subsidiary and several other units, the company is one of the largest homebuilders in Colorado; it is also active in about a dozen other states in the West and mid-Atlantic. MDC annually builds about 3,000 single-family detached homes that range in price from $170,000 to $450,000. The company also constructs a limited number of luxury homes. Subsidiary HomeAmerican Mortgage provides loans to buyers of MDC's homes; the company also has subsidiaries that offer homeowners and title insurance.
