The company is known as the world's largest manufacturer of automotive pistons; though in recent years, it has driven into other areas of engine components and automotive parts. It makes products primarily for internal combustion engines, filter systems, and power and valve train systems, but it also makes non-automotive components for small (hand-held power equipment, motorcycles, leisure vehicles) and large engines (marine, locomotive, construction), and industrial filtration. Mahle offers engineering services as well as aftermarket products. It runs more than 100 production facilities in over 20 countries worldwide.
