It is the American division of global petrochemical giant LyondellBasell and also makes polyethylene and other advanced polyolefin materials. The company operates about 30 manufacturing plants, technical centers, and R&D facilities in the US and Mexico. It also operates a petroleum refinery in Houston and acts as the exclusive marketer of polypropylene resins manufactured at a plant owned by ConocoPhillips . Private investment group Access Industries, controlled by industrialist Len Blavatnik, owns the company.
