LTX-Credence wasn't born on the bayou -- the company was created from the 2008 merger of LTX Corp. and rival Credence Systems. LTX-Credence makes automated test equipment (ATE) used by chip makers to test semiconductors as they're being manufactured and as part of the final package test. The company consolidated its predecessors' product lines into four basic test equipment families -- ASL, Sapphire, Diamond, and X-Series. Top customers include Taiwan's Spirox, Atmel, and Texas Instruments. More than three-quarters of sales come from outside the US.
