    Long Island College Hospital (LICH) is a community hospital serving the residents of Brooklyn Heights/Cobble Hill. The hospital provides over 500 beds and is the primary teaching affiliate for State University of New York's Health Science Center at Brooklyn. LICH is a subsidiary of Continuum Health Partners. The hospital provides training programs for physicians in about 20 medical specialties. Established in 1858, LICH was a pioneer in bedside teaching, and its School of Nursing is one of the oldest of its kind in the US. Specialty services include cardiology, dentistry, immunology, radiology, women's services, and pediatrics.
