LBMC serves half a dozen Long Island communities. The facility has about 160 acute care beds at the main center, as well as 200 subacute care beds at The Komanoff Center for Geriatric and Rehabilitative Medicine. LBMC provides behavioral health, family health care, emergency, and rehabilitation services. Its Family Care Center offers health care to those with inadequate financial resources. LBMC has teaching affiliations with the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. The hospital was founded in 1922.
