Company Description
London and St Lawrence Investment Company takes the long view. The closed-end investment trust seeks long-term capital and income growth through investments in UK government bonds, corporate bonds, investment trusts, unit trusts, Canadian equities, and other types of securities. Subsidiary Consistent Unit Trust Management manages two authorized unit trusts, Consistent Unit Trust and Practical Investment Fund. (The company assumed management of the latter fund, which was founded in 1941, in 2003.) Gerald Ashfield, who served as chairman of London and St. Lawrence for more than 50 years, died in 2009.
