Company Description
Lloyd's America, the US subsidiary of the famed Lloyd's of London, is the liaison between the London-based specialty insurance market and its US producers (brokers who bring business to Lloyd's syndicates). The company provides information on the market, including statistical information, and on insurance requirements. It also provides lists of approved brokers and correspondents in the US and UK so US brokers not affiliated with Lloyd's can contact it to place insurance business, all of which is underwritten in London. That the US is Lloyd's largest market (about a third of sales) makes this an important function. Lloyd's America operates offices in California, Illinois, Kentucky, and New York.
